GS Hood Insert Hardware Kit (Aftermarket Bezels)
24 Pc Kit gives you the proper hardware to install your GS/GSX Hood Inserts using the Reproduction Insert BEZELS made by TPP Fits 1970 – 1972   Kit includes 8 of the following . . . .
  • Seal Plate to Insert Bezel 
  • Insert Bezel to Hood 
  • Insert to Bezel
  Note: The Factory Bezels use a # 8 Screw to mount to the Hood. The Reproduction Bezels made by TPP use a # 10 Screw. (which is what this kit includes)   Assembly Tip: We grind the very tip off the "Insert Bezel to Hood" screws just to make sure they don't poke through the Bezel! Install the Nuts with caution! Use some assembly lube! Do not force them as the studs can break! They're made out of Pot Metal and will snap off if you force the nuts on. If you need to open up the nut slightly place it in a deep well socket upside down and insert a tapered punch in with a hammer to "spread" the threads a bit! Again, do NOT force them on!     Stage 1 Restoration has the most hardware of any vendor for the 1970 – 1972 GS / GSX & Skylark Models. These have had some paint issues, meaning the black paint was not applied properly. They have a rough finish. If you want a set please call for details & photos. We are NOT the manufacture of these. We carry the same ones you'll get at any other dealer so be aware of this if you purchase these elsewhere! If you purchase a set you are agreeing to the potential paint flaws therefore they are not returnable. Just being up front with this product! As of right now there are no other options other than sending an original set off to be restored. .

GS Hood Inserts (1971)
Reproduction GS & GSX Hood Inserts for the 1971 Models     Note:  The manufacture of these has had an issue with the Mounting Studs breaking during transit.   We see this from time to time on our shipments as well (From them to us) Once I receive them I repackage them to avoid the issue however we request they check them prior to shipping to us but we still seem to get some from time to time with a broken stud (usually only on 1 of the 4 corners)  We communicated this issue to them but it seems as though the issue isn't being addressed. IF this is something you do not want to deal with please do not order them. As mentioned we request that they inspect them prior to shipping but we STILL seem to end up with some from time to time and it's not an issue they'll cover under "Warranty".  These are NOT reproduced by anybody else so these are all we have access to.  If you're willing to chance it then you can be assured we'll repack them better than they arrive to us. But if you do not want to deal with the issue then I ask that you do not order them as we don't have a way to warranty the issue at this time. I apologize but just being up front with this part . . . . (None of the other Vendors will tell you this up front)!   The Mounting Studs are also pretty short so we recommend using a Push Nut to install them.
